Tower could set new heights for Cathedral Hill. As proposed, the 1481 Post Street tower would rise to a height of 416-feet and become the highest point on Cathedral Hill, as rendered in a view from Alamo Square. In addition to the positive energy created by the 36-stories of 262 new residential condominiums, the creation of ground level neighborhood-serving amenities and enlivened streetscapes will aid in the transformation to a new pedestrian friendly neighborhood streetscape. Augmenting the project with robust open space; the well-lit integrated landscape plans, along with the creation of ground level amenities, will contribute to a walkable environment. The design calls for the replacement of the existing above-ground parking structure and creating a vibrant pedestrian friendly corridor connecting the future home of California Pacific Medical Center’s (CPMC) at Van Ness on the east to Japantown on the west. Pedestrian activity will be greatly enhanced with the relocation of the existing 1333 Gough building lobby entrance to Post Street.
